Best-Fit Profile

This examination is ideal for dedicated and experienced Central Government employees currently serving as Upper Division Clerks (UDC) or Senior Secretariat Assistants (SSA) in the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) or Ministry of External Affairs (Cadre Cell). Candidates with at least six years of approved service who aspire for career progression to a Group 'B' Non-Gazetted officer role will find this a valuable opportunity. A strong grasp of administrative procedures, service rules, and general government affairs, coupled with a commitment to competitive examination preparation, is essential.

Important Considerations

Candidates who are not existing Central Government employees in the specified feeder grades (UDC/SSA) with the mandatory six years of approved service are not eligible to apply. Those lacking a clear understanding of departmental competitive examination structures or who are not prepared for a comprehensive computer-based examination covering administrative and general awareness topics should reconsider.

Career Impact

Joining as an Assistant Section Officer/Assistant Grade in Pay Level-7 within the Central Secretariat Service or Ministry of External Affairs is a significant career advancement. These roles offer substantial institutional prestige, stable central government employment, and pathways for long-term growth within crucial administrative departments, contributing to policy-making and governance at a higher level.
