Job Analysis

AI-generated insights

Best-Fit Profile

This opportunity is ideal for motivated Master's or Bachelor's (Engineering/Technology) degree holders in various Earth and Marine Sciences or related engineering disciplines, who are also NET/GATE qualified (for JRF) or possess relevant research experience and publications (for SRF). Candidates seeking project-based, temporary research assignments within a prestigious government scientific institution and eager to contribute to polar and ocean sciences will find these roles highly suitable.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as these positions are explicitly on a temporary, contractual basis and do not guarantee absorption or regularization. Those without the specified educational qualifications, particularly the mandatory NET/GATE for JRF or the required 2 years of post-qualification research experience for SRF, will not be eligible.

Career Impact

NCPOR, an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, offers a highly reputable platform for scientific research in polar and ocean sciences. While the roles are contractual, they provide valuable experience, exposure to cutting-edge research, and contributions to national scientific programs. This can significantly enhance a researcher's profile, though long-term career security directly from these specific positions is not implied.
