The Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG) is an autonomous research institution under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. It specializes in advanced research concerning the geology and geodynamics of the Himalayas, covering various fields like Petrology, Geochemistry, Tectonics, and Seismology. The institute is equipped with modern laboratories to support young researchers in the field of Geosciences.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a 1st class in M.Sc., M.Tech, or M.Sc. (Tech) in Geoscience or any allied field relevant to WIHG's research domains.
Applicants must have either submitted their Ph.D. thesis or been awarded a doctoral degree in the field of Geosciences.
A minimum of three good publication records in SCI journals is required, with at least one publication as the lead author.
Documentary proof of thesis submission or doctoral degree award is mandatory.

Age Limit Details

The maximum age limit for the Research Associate position is 35 years as on 1st April of the application year. Age relaxation for reserved categories is applicable as per Government of India regulations.

The consolidated salary for the position is Rs. 61,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable. The emoluments will be governed by the guidelines of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), subject to periodic amendments.
