Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for experienced researchers holding an M.Sc. (with 4 years R&D experience) or Ph.D. in Life Sciences. Candidates with a strong background in Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) or Animal Biosafety Level 3 (ABSL-3) lab work, coupled with hands-on experience in handling bacterial/viral pathogens, molecular biology techniques, and immunological assays, will find this position highly suitable. It's best for those seeking specialized, project-based research in a high-containment environment.
Important Considerations
Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as this is a contractual, time-bound project position. Those lacking the specific R&D experience (especially in BSL-3 environments) or the requisite educational qualifications will find themselves unsuitable. Candidates unwilling to work with infectious pathogens or relocate to New Delhi should also reconsider.
Career Impact
Working at the National Institute of Immunology (NII), a premier institution under the Department of Biotechnology, offers significant prestige and exposure in the field of immunological research. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical, time-bound project on emerging pathogens. While not a permanent government job, the specialized experience gained will be highly valuable for future career progression in research, particularly in biosafety and infectious disease studies.
