Psychiatrist, Medical Practitioner & Mental Health Member

Additionally, individuals with direct experience as caregivers for persons with mental illness or representatives of registered NGOs in mental health (with at least 10 years of experience) are highly suitable. Candidates must be committed to mental health advocacy and governance, prepared to serve a 5-year term on a state-level board under the Mental Health Care Act 2017. Those residing in or actively involved with the Dhule, Jalgaon, or Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra will find this position particularly relevant.

Individuals seeking a conventional, permanent, and salaried government employment should not apply, as this is a non-ex-officio, nomination-based position with a fixed 5-year term, likely involving honorarium rather than a full salary. Applicants without the specific medical qualifications and extensive experience (15 years for medical roles, 10 years for NGO representatives) will not meet the eligibility criteria. Furthermore, candidates who have already attained the age of 70 years are ineligible to hold office.
