Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for chemistry graduates (B.Sc. in Chemistry) seeking temporary project-based research experience within a prestigious national institute. Candidates with prior fieldwork, data collection, sample analysis, or report preparation experience, especially in environmental or chemical domains, would be well-suited. The position offers a fixed monthly emolument with potential for an increment after three years, making it suitable for those looking to build their research profile on a contractual basis.
Important Considerations
Individuals seeking permanent government employment will find this role unsuitable, as it is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Candidates whose B.Sc. results are awaited or who have not acquired the essential qualification are not eligible. Those unwilling to work in Chennai or expecting comprehensive government benefits (beyond HRA) may also find this unsuitable.
Career Impact
Working with CSIR-NEERI, a leading national environmental research institute, offers significant prestige and a valuable opportunity to contribute to scientific R&D, particularly on a project related to critical mineral use in firework industries. While the role is contractual and offers limited long-term internal career progression, the experience gained will significantly enhance a candidate's research credentials, opening doors for future academic or research positions in related fields. The project's specialized nature provides unique exposure to applied scientific research.
