Physical Training Instructor

The selection process will involve a State-level departmental written test (Objective Multiple Choice) for 70 marks. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined score of the written test and sports achievements.

• A. Written Test: Maximum 70 Marks.
• B. Sports Achievements: Maximum 30 Marks, based on gradation as notified by the Government of Punjab, Department of Sports and Youth Services.
  • Grade A: 30 Marks
  • Grade B: 25 Marks
  • Grade C: 10 Marks
  • Grade D: 5 Marks
• Total: 100 Marks.

Note: The sports achievement weightage does not apply to candidates applying under the sports quota; for them, the Punjab Sportsmen Recruitment Rules, 1988, will apply. If a candidate has multiple gradation certificates, only one can be claimed as per the revised Gradation Policy 2023.

Physical Eligibility Test Criteria: This is a qualifying test with five components. Candidates must successfully complete three out of the five components.

Physically disabled candidates are exempted from the physical test.

Interested and eligible candidates must apply online by following the steps below:

1. Visit the official website: erd.punjab.gov.in.
2. Candidates are allowed to apply for only one category. If multiple applications are submitted, only the first registration/application will be considered valid, and subsequent ones will be cancelled automatically.
3. Register on the website by clicking the "New Registration" link and filling in the required information. Note that once registered, no information can be updated or edited.
4. Log in to your account using your registration number and password.
5. Proceed to pay the application fee online by clicking on the "Application Fee" link.
6. After successful fee confirmation, take a printout of your application form and keep it safe for future reference. There is no need to send the application form or any documents by post to the office. Documents will only be required upon request.
7. Upload a self-attested passport-size photograph (2.5x3.5 inches, with 80% face visible including ears, white background, no cap or goggles, recent photo with date) and scanned signature/thumb impressions during the online application process.

• Reserved Categories (SC/ST): Rs. 1000/-
• Ex-servicemen (Self): No fee.

Fee exemption for ex-servicemen is conditional; they must not have been discharged prematurely or at their own request. Dependents of ex-servicemen must pay the required fee and present a Lineal Descendent Certificate (LDC) during document scrutiny.
