Best-Fit Profile
This fellowship is ideal for highly qualified medical professionals holding DM/DrNB (Medical Oncology, Clinical Haematology, Pediatric Oncology) or MD/DNB (General Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine) degrees, with a mandatory 3 years of experience in relevant super-specialty areas. It targets individuals seeking advanced, specialized training and research exposure in oncology within a prestigious, government-funded institution like ACTREC, with opportunities for rotational postings across India.
Important Considerations
Candidates who do not possess the specified super-specialty medical qualifications (DM/DrNB/MD/DNB) or lack the minimum 3 years of relevant experience should not apply, as these are strict eligibility criteria. Individuals unwilling to serve in multiple locations across India, including non-Mumbai centres, may find the rotational posting requirement challenging. Lack of recognition for degrees by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or inability to register with the Maharashtra Medical Council (if selected for Senior Resident position) are also dealbreakers.
Career Impact
Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) and ACTREC are premier institutions under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, offering high national prestige in cancer treatment, research, and education. This fellowship provides specialized training, significantly enhancing career prospects in medical oncology and related super-specialties across India. The rotational posting offers diverse clinical exposure, contributing to a well-rounded professional development experience.
