About Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan & Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan henceforth mentioned as KVS is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India. It has its Headquarters office at New Delhi, 25 Regional offices located at Agra, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Silchar, Tinsukia, Varanasi and 1288 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) functioning all over the country including 03 abroad. It also has five Zonal Institutes of Education & Training (ZIETs). KVs are co-educational schools upto class 12th and focuses on holistic development of students.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti henceforth mentioned as NVS is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India. It has its Hqrs Office at NOIDA (Uttar Pradesh), 08 Regional Offices at Bhopal, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Pune & Shillong and 653 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) functional all over India except in the State of Tamil Nadu. JNVs are co-educational, fully residential schools up to Senior Secondary level and are located mainly in rural areas. JNVs being fully residential institutions, the teachers are required to stay in the Vidyalaya campus for which rent-free accommodation as available are provided. In addition to normal teaching duties, the teachers are required to perform responsibilities attached with residential system of schooling like House Mastership, remedial and supervisory studies, organization of co-curricular activities, escorting of students on migration & other official purposes and looking after students' welfare in general.

Educational Qualification

Details regarding essential and desirable qualifications for various categories of posts are given below.

A1. FOR ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER (ACADEMICS) in NVS
  • Master's Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks
  • B.Ed. from NCTE Recognized Institute/University
A2. FOR ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER in KVS
  • Master's Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks
  • B.Ed. from NCTE Recognized Institute/University with atleast 50% marks OR Three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE Recognized Institute/University with atleast 50% marks
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi and English.
B. FOR PRINCIPAL
  • Master's Degree with at least 50% marks from recognized institution/University.
  • Bachelor degree in Education (B.Ed.) with at least 50% marks from NCTE recognized Institution/University. OR Three year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution/University with at least 50% marks OR Four years Integrated Degree with at least 50% marks including B.Ed. component from NCTE recognized Institution/University (50% marks)
  • Knowledge of Computer Applications.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi and English
C. FOR VICE PRINCIPAL IN KVS
  • Master Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with atleast 50% marks from NCTE Recognized Institute/University OR Three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. with atleast 50% marks from any NCTE recognized Institute/University OR Four years Integrated degree with at least 50% marks from NCTE recognized Institution/ University including B.Ed. component (50% marks).
  • Knowledge of Computer Applications.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi and English.
D. FOR POST GRADUATE TEACHERS (PGTs)
  • Integrated Post Graduate Course from NCTE recognized institution/University, in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate including B.Ed. component. OR Master Degree from a recognized institution/University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the concerned subject AND B.Ed. Degree from NCTE recognized institution/University with atleast 50% marks OR Three years Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE recognized Institution/University with atleast 50% marks OR Four years Integrated Degree with at least 50% marks from NCTE recognized Institution/University including B.Ed. component.
  • Proficiency to Teach in Hindi and English medium.
F. FOR TRAINED GRADUATE TEACHERS (TGTs)
  • Four years integrated degree course from NCTE recognized Institution/ University with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject(s) as well as in the aggregate including B.Ed. component. OR Bachelor/Honours Degree from a recognized institution/University with at least 50% marks in concerned subject, combination of subjects as well as in the aggregate AND B.Ed. Degree from NCTE recognized institution/University with atleast 50% marks OR Three years Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE.
  • Qualified in the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (Paper-II) conducted by CBSE (for specified subjects).
  • Competency to teach through English and Hindi Medium.
H. FOR Special Educator (TGT)
  • Graduation Degree from a recognized institution/University with minimum 50% Marks
  • Any of the following: B.Ed. (Special Education); B.Ed. (General) with one/two year Diploma in Special Education; PG Diploma/Certificate in Special Education, etc. approved by RCI.
  • Qualified in Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) (Paper - II).
  • Registration with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) with valid CRR number.
I. FOR PRIMARY TEACHERS – MUSIC (PRT-MUSIC)
  • Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary/Intermediate (CLASS XII) with 50% marks from recognized board.
  • Bachelor Degree in Music/Performing Arts from a recognized Institution/University, provided that music subject is studied in all the years of degree as main subject.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi & English
J. FOR PRIMARY TEACHER (PRT)
  • Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.) OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) from RCI.
  • Qualified in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper-I).
  • Proficiency to teach through Hindi & English medium.
L. FOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
  • Graduate from recognized university/Institute
  • Knowledge of Computer application
M. FOR FINANCE OFFICER
  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with 50% marks OR Master's Degree in Commerce with 50% marks OR Bachelor's Degree with CA (Inter) or ICWA (Inter) or MBA (Finance) or PGDM (Finance) (02 years full time).
  • Knowledge of Computer Applications.

N. FOR ASSISTANT ENGINEER
  • Graduate in Civil/Electrical Engineering from recognized university/Institute.

P. FOR JUNIOR TRANSLATOR

  • Bachelor's degree from recognized university/Institute or equivalent.
R. FOR STENOGRAPHER GRADE - I
  • Graduate from recognized university/Institute
  • Shorthand Speed of 100 w.p.m. in English/ Hindi Shorthand and Typing Speed of 45 w.p.m. in English/ Hindi Typing.

S. FOR STENOGRAPHER GRADE - II
  • Graduate from recognized university/Institute

T. FOR JUNIOR SECRETARIAT ASSISTANT
  • Class XII pass or equivalent. A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer (for KVS) / 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi (for NVS). OR Passed + 2 Level of Senior Secondary from CBSE/ State Board with Secretarial Practices and Office management as Vocational subject (for NVS).
U. FOR LAB ATTENDANT
  • 10th Class pass with a certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Technique OR 12th Class with Science stream from a recognized Board / University

In addition to the pay scale, selected candidates in NVS will be entitled to draw admissible allowances besides 10% special allowance for performing residential duties. However, 10% Special allowance is not admissible to the post of Assistant Commissioner (Academics) NVS.

How to Apply

  1. The candidates should apply only through the official websites of CBSE, KVS and NVS i.e. https://www.cbse.gov.in/, https://kvsangathan.nic.in/ and https://navodaya.gov.in/ respectively. The applications submitted by other means/mode will not be accepted.
  2. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
  3. A candidate should submit only one application for as many posts he/she wish to apply. There will be a drop-down for all the posts mentioned in the notification. If a candidate selects more than one post, he/she will have to pay the requisite fee separately for all the posts.
  4. Candidates are required to have a valid personal email ID and mobile number and should keep them active during the recruitment process.
  5. Candidates must register on the application portal to create their Login-id & password before filling the online application form.
  6. Candidates should fill all particulars in the online application form very carefully. Scan and upload their recent photograph and signature at the appropriate places as per instructions.
  7. The name of the candidate, date of birth and his/her parents' name should be spelt correctly as it appears in the class X certificates/mark sheets.
  8. Candidates have to pay examination fee and processing fee online through the prescribed link at online application.
  9. Before applying online, ensure to have a scanned image of the latest photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  10. Payment must be made online via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
  11. Candidates are advised to fill the online application form well in time without waiting for the last date.

No examination fee is required to be paid by candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD and Ex-Servicemen category. However, the processing fee of Rs.500/- will have to be paid by each and every applicant. GST as applicable will be charged extra by the Bank.
