Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for fresh or experienced Electrical Engineering graduates (B.E./B.Tech. with GATE or M.E./M.Tech.) who possess a strong foundation in Power System Protection, Microgrid Dynamics, Renewables, Power Electronics Converters, and AI/ML Algorithms. Candidates keen on a temporary, project-based research position within a prestigious institution will find this opportunity suitable.
Important Considerations
Individuals seeking permanent government employment or those without a valid GATE score (for B.E./B.Tech. holders) should not apply. This role is not suitable for applicants looking for a long-term, stable career path directly from this position, as it is temporary and project-specific. Those without a strong background in the specified Electrical Engineering sub-disciplines may also find it challenging.
Career Impact
Working as a Junior Research Fellow at NIT Silchar, an Institute of National Importance, offers significant academic prestige and invaluable research experience. While the position itself is temporary and project-bound (3 years), it provides an excellent stepping stone for further academic pursuits (Ph.D.) or research-oriented careers in both public and private sectors. The exposure to advanced research in low-voltage DC microgrids, under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsorship, enhances long-term career prospects in specialized technical domains.
